Chats with Plana

Your assistant is the one that knows your day, reminds you and answers your texts. A chat is for one piece of work, started fresh, and private until you add someone.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Start a chat

Click Chats in the sidebar and type what you're working on. Drop in the client's PDF or photo if you have it, or press + to add a file or name one of your jobs. Plana gets straight to work: you see what it's doing as it goes, and its answer as it writes. Each chat opens as a tab beside your jobs, and your latest chats sit under Chats in the sidebar. Right-click a job (or use its … menu) and pick New chat with Plana about this to start one pinned to that job.

  2. 2

    Files stay in the chat

Files you drop into a chat are only for the people in it. When one belongs on a job, press Add to job on the file and it moves onto the job's Files for everyone who works on it.

  3. 3

    Bring someone in

Add people to bring a teammate in. They see the whole chat and its files. Once someone else is in, Plana only answers when you tag @Plana, so the two of you can talk it through first. Prices show as a card each person sees as their role allows.

  4. 4

    Rename, pin and archive

Click the chat's name at the top to rename it, pin it to a job or archive it when you're done (it asks first). Nothing is deleted: Archived on the Chats page has it, and Bring back puts it back. On the phone, Chats is under More.
